Hi,
My first idea was to try to weight the responses - 1 for first exposure and 2 for favorite. With many only mentioning favorites and multiple favorites, my approach to weighting the results did not seem valid.
I had not thought of amusement parks and so I combined Disnyland and/or Knott's as a single entry (same general area - LA basin). One person mentioned Edaville as first exposure but has three seperate interests so I excluded the entry. Knott's could be considered either D&RGW or RGS due to equipment heritage.
One interesting item is that first exposure to narrow gauge was 3 "votes" for D&RGW and 2 "votes" for DSP&P/C&S. As for the line that they found most interesting the D&RGW and C&S swapped places.
One response was the first exposure was not a railroad but a book. Darned if I know how to rank that one.
Intersting results. I am looking forward to more responses.
