1. Not a clue.
2. Top picture is K-37 497 at Mears Jct. circa 1938 or there abouts. The bottom picture is K-36 487 at Durango in 1954-it was on a layover as it had just brought in an excursion from Alamosa. I think this is the train on Greg Scholl's upcoming tape. You can tell the difference most easily by the sand and steam domes, but also by the contour of the boiler. Also the K-37's never had the large number boards near the stack, the K-36's had them until the San Juan was discontinued.
