If you travel to Johnson City to partake you might drive the 19 or so miles down to Erwin Tn. There was a morbid and curious event that happened back in 1916. Erwin was a railroad town but they are most famous for hanging an elephant with a railroad crane. You may do a search for the hanging elephant and get lots of stories.
