This is one of the Ex-RAF/Indian AF aircraft. In reality it is the only flying B-24 bomber left. The commemorative Air Force has a transport version they fly that they have been restoring to B-24A standards, but currently it does not have a full bomb bay.
18,600 B-24's were produced. That is the highest production number of any military aircraft ever produced in the United States.
This is the mechanic/flight engineer's view as we taxi in to Casper, WY.
Someone needs to stand up here as there is no view of the wingtips from the cockpit. I owed him a favor so let him fly part of the leg from Cody to Casper and let him do the landing.
Just like steam railroading, the coolness factor is off the scale...
