Sumpter has been trying to get the #101 back for years, but the CRRM doesn't want to negotiate. We did recently re-aquire the only other diesel the SV ever owned, the #100. And your right to say that the #101 has extreme historical signifigance to the SV. It was there for 24 years and was the last engine to operate on the SV, I think it worked sporatically on the D&RGW for 5 years. The Baldwin mikes were supposedly scrapped in the 1960's, but you never know. The #50 was working as a switcher into the 70's, when it was involved in a collision. That doesn't mean they aren't still around, as the jungles and scrap yards hide many secrets. There is even a very minute chance that the mallets may still be in Guatemala. I had never heard about the #6 being in Utah, I will have to look in on that. It would be great to have three cabeese back in service. I'll try to see if I can find out more information on the fates of the SV equipment
Thanks Again, Taylor
