Actually, I believe that when most people think "Old West",
they picture something like Texas or Kansas. When we lived in Kansas,
we lived just a few miles from the intersection of the East-West
Santa Fe Trail, and the North-South Ellsworth Trail; I used to joke
that when I looked out the window, I expected to see John Wayne ride
past. We did have tumbleweed go thru our yard, and the next summer I
had to uproot young tumbleweed plants (they have really tough stems
while they are green and growing!). The area around Antonito looks
much more like that than the area around Chama does, so "Old West"
might be a hook to hang an Antonito - Big Horn train on
( and the destination village / movie set built at Big Horn would
look like the Dodge City sort of thing that tourists would be wanting).
