C&S Rotary Plow in Chama?

I found this picture in the DPL collection of a C&S rotary in Chama in 1948. Does any one know the story behind this? What was a C&S rotary doing in Chama?

Also was there ever a NG connection between the D&RG/D&RGW and the C&S? If there was I would imagine they connected in Denver, but I believe the D&RG pulled the 3rd rail from its lines in Denver in about 1890.
