There has been a volunteer fire department in Silverton since the 1870s. In 1951 the town had its 1929 Chevrolet fire truck, which it still has and maintains, and I believe they had the WWII era war surplus Seagraves engine that took us into the 1970s. I don't recall any unique lettering on the Seagraves. Then we started acquiring an armada of equipment that now includes a ladder truck and a new fire house. All the lettering appears to be stock stuff that comes out of a catalog, though it has a distinct fire engine look to it.
