Hi,
this reminds me that the PRR did something similar. Pennsylvania was on the locos used east of Pittsburgh and the tenders on those used west of Pittsburgh were lettered Lines West. Paperwork used Lines East and Lines West sometimes.
cutting a railroad into paperwork separates seems to be not too uncommon.
