The picture at the top of this thread shows #168 in Alamosa in 1923. Note that it had an electrified box headlight at that time. The headlight currently on the engine is an original D&RG headlight. The restoration plan is to return the engine to it's appearance when it got the current boiler circa 1913.
The time frame we are looking at is 10 years after the K-27s were first built and 17 years before the K36s were delivered.
