You're right, Rainbow -
I was looking mainly at the springs and their supports - probably standard parts available for a variety of purposes in those days - and not carefully enough at the rest of the components. The two vehicles had a lot of similar parts, but they do appear to be two different machines, not early and late versions of the same critter.
