This view was printed in the book “Narrow Gauge East from Denver” by Newell and Griswold.

No date is shown for this particular view.

However, there are other views spread out through the text covering this same event. Part of the occasion involved publicity photos comparing the Ute with newly arrived standard gauge power. One photo indicates a date of 1901.

Another view appears in LeMassena’s “Rio Grande to the Pacific. He showed a date of 1900.

Depending on delivery date of the SG 900s, the date of 1900 might be the correct date.
