Hey guys, the Foster's Hotel in Chama also has a ghost - google it!
When I returned to Chama for the 40th Anniversary Reunion, I wanted to stay at the Foster's for old times sake. When I got there, the girl behind the bar - who was also the hotel clerk - wouldn't allow me to pay for more than the first night. She said that before I paid for more nights, I should see how I liked it.
Well, I lugged my stuff up the stairs - talk about creaky halls - and settled into my room. After a bit, I decided to go out onto the balcony overlooking the Railroad yard for the view and some fresh air. As I went out into the hall, there was some commotion, and a tall, disheveled, and very drunk man stumbled in from the balcony, crushing a beer can in his hand as he came. He turned into a room, where a woman in a slip was sitting on the edge of a bed, apparently waiting for him.
I decided against going out on the balcony, and returned to my room. Heck the broken window provided plenty of fresh air, anyway.
A few minutes later, I heard the ghost moaning, just down the hall!
