Totally NNG, but... Back "in the day" when the Rio Grande's piggyback (TOFC) yard was still on Pecos St. just west of Utah Junction, the main tracks split the yard.
Truckers had to check in at the shack, and then they would be told to take their trailers across the main and drop them by the appropriate flat car, and a piggypacker would load them.
In the check-in shack, there were a number of photographs, Polaroids, IIRC, that showed a grade crossing collision between an Amtrak F40 and a loaded trailer full of flour...
Yes, it was quite the mess.
Of course, when the UP took over, the Rio Grande's pig yard was shut down, and the shack is long gone - along with everything else.
Does anyone have any idea if the photos of the mishap may have survived?
