I disagree Michael,
You can see the trees in the aspen grove in the distance reflected so I know the train would have been, cause there is 75% or so of the water. Yes you can see its not all the way to its top point, but it is clear and not rippled, thus not much wind. Early morning is the only time its really good, but not too early as I have seen this shaded very early.
Anyway I am partial to reflection shots, but never shot Perry's Pond until last September(At least that I remember).
In looking at some stuff I shot off the train in September, the one shot I would like is the little pond at Tanglefoot curve. I could see a lot of potential for possibly two-three angles of it, but the best would be down the grade on the upper level(or just below it), as the train heads toward you in the late afternoon sun, with the pond between you and the train? Seeing the video I wanted to be there! Riding around Tanglefoot is an amazing experience, especially westbound.
