Coal burning stove?

I was i Alamogordo Nm one day inspecting a crane at the matel scrap yard when I can across a little cast iron stove of some sort. It looks like a small transmition bell side down. It has two doors one near the bottom and one close to the top. There is three holes on top, one for the exiting but the other two looks as if they go together. The third hole is a tube that go back down to the bottom so what I thought is that it feed itself air like a turbo in a car?!
One way I quickly thought it to be a coal burner is that it has turnable grats on the bottom.
Any one got an idea?
