Jimmy Blouch has dispatcher's train sheets from the era. Two-engine trains eastbound had an engine in the front and one ahead of the caboose. Three-engine eastbounds had two engines and in the front and one ahead of the caboose.
westbounds out of Antonito had either two engines in the front or one engine in the front and another inside the consist. Tonnage determined this.
