Now you two Curmudgeons have me REALLY confused -
According to my recently-purchased
'National Geographic ATLAS of the WORLD' (which also includes pages on The Moon, The Solar System, The Milky Way Galaxy, and The Universe - apparently just in case The Antipodes just aren't adventurous enough for you), New Zealand consists primarily of the slightly more easterly
'NORTH ISLAND' (TE IKA-A-MAUI) and the slightly more westerly
'SOUTH ISLAND' (TE WAIPOUNAMU).
Since New Zealand has - along with Wales - long been at the top of my "bucket list", I'll ask Chris to please respond with a clarification, and to re-orient my fellow Curmudgeons to the greatest extent possible as to where & when to find Steam in operation, both 'Colony Gauge' & really-truly 'Narrow Gauge', and whether North, South, East or JBWX!
Thanks in advance,
-
Roosso
p.s. Not to worry, Chris - SFAIK, neither airlines nor tramp steamers will allow any of us to bring a gallon or two of Dark Olive Green Boiler Jacket
Enamel Urethane in our luggage
