It's worth noting that a speed of 15-20 mph is historically correct for the WW&F, based on public timetables. For example, northbound trains were allotted 18 minutes to cover the 4.8 miles from Wiscasset to Sheepscot, which equals about 16 mph.

By comparison, trains on the SR&RL appear to have run a little bit faster than this: 11.1 miles from Farmington to Strong in 30 minutes = 22 mph including intermediate station stops.
