Re: OY Valve Gear

Indeed OY has Walschaert gear .
Because it is Run on the left and right sides in different directions at the same time due to the fact the power is simultaneously transmitted through bevel gears, the eccentric crank on one side is set in the opposite direction as to what would be normal for inside admission style valves.
This is done so that one side runs in forward while the other side runs in reverse yet the links move in the same direction when the reversing lever is operated. OY is piston valve as well.
