The Foden Steam lorry was developed in 1900 and did serve in WW1. They were so successful the design carried on through to the 1930's.
One point of interest is the vehicle on the low loader, that was the prototype for the Tank. It was developed for agricultural use on the fields of Lincolnshire which were very muddy in winter. Someone thought we could use that in France to advance across no mans land. Put an armoured casing round it and we have the tank.
The Tank Museum at Bovington have a working WW1 tank. So if any of you guys find yourselves in Dorset UK, please visit. They also have a Sherman Tank and a working German Tiger Tank. Well worth a visit.
