The pole is southwesterly from the section house, right at the edge of the highway cut. It won't intrude into photos unless the photographer intends it to. I took the picture from the south edge of the highway to get a silhouette. It would be behind someone taking the usual photos.

As near as I can determine, the equipment was installed Friday or Saturday, October 17 or 18. The pole went in mid-summer. There is an identical pole on La Manga next to the summit sign. It had no equipment yesterday.

I'd be interested to learn how the data is backhauled - satellite? cell phone? Semaphore? Hmmmm. . . . .
