Greg, I think that most folk that are traveling out to Whiplash are usually in a hurry to get to their next photo shot, I have driven into whiplash without any threat to my tires, it all has to do with your speed, if you go slow then it feels like a highway, go fast and it tears up everything besides the tires. Tire pressure is also another factor, I have found that if your tires require 35 lbs of standard pressure, going into whiplash with 30 is better, your tires mold around the rocks better at slow speeds. I feel bad that I didn't make it out sooner, all I needed was one day and you'd had a good one. If it's any consolation I didn't make it to Whiplash this trip either. I did make it out to Cascade Trestle, and that was a fun trip other than when I crossed the Rio de Los Pinos skipping rocks and then falling in on the last rock before landing on dry land
this is a very beautiful Canyon one of my favorites.
Still a Student,
