Jason:
The road from Pine to South Platte is/was a well maintained dirt road and is worth the ride. See my early picture of Dome Rock and the RR abutments at Buffalo Creek.
Some time ago I drove in from Bailey to Estabrook and the station was still in place but modified. Following the grade back in the field I could see a through truss crossing the South Platte on a private road, the grade looks to be a dirt road but is gated. Bailey has a truss bridge taken from the canyon when the reservoir was built. At Grant the water tank base was still in the bushes before you cross the stream on 285 and following the dirt road further into the canyon you can see the loop where the DSP&P reversed to start the climb up grade to Kenosha Pass. The road cuts right through the fill.
