All highly recommended, and all are, alas, out of print and somewhat collectable. Cafkey's first work, _Rails Around Gold Hill_ is an overview of all the railroads serving the Cripple Creek mining district. Cafkey followed up with a full volume treatment of the Colorado Midland in 1965. Even with his extensive work, there was more material, and Mel McFarland produced two volumes with additional information, one each on the CM and MT. There was still more, and Dan Abbott wrote a volume on the CM for Sundance, which published it in 1989. It says something that there is still substantial interest in a railroad which ran its last train in 1918, and still has a following of modelers and researchers nearly a century later.
