As a locomotive engineer, I have mixed feelings about this one. 99% of me is disappointed in a fellow railroader's behavior, but there's that 1% that totally understands the frustration and anger which lead up to this man's actions. I have long said that the railroads don't seem to grasp the fact that we have a very special set of skills and knowledge, and all it takes is that one person to "flip out" and do tremendous damage. I am NOT advocating or condoning it, but out of hundreds of thousands of railroaders in this country alone, all it takes is one person who feels that the lack of respect, contract violations, and general mistreatment "deserves" such a reaction.
