"I heard the sand got real deep about 10 or 15 miles from plaster city, and I didn't want to push it till I got stuck."
Many years ago a friend of mine was chasing the US Gypsum operation and mentioned to the crew that he would be at some location out in the desert. They looked at his Hertz car and warned him of the sand and the gullies, and that 4WD was adviseable. He announced as how a rental car could go places a four-wheel-drive couldn't get to any day, and sped off.
And the crew was still nice enough to help him out when they came upon the car, suspended by the bumpers with all four wheels off the ground, in a sandy gully.
At least he had taken out the CDW insurance . . . <img class=" />
