USG - Railroad Fan Trip in 1956 *PIC*

February 02, 2003 06:51AM
I added a full cover of images from the 1956 fan trip to Plaster City. Back then it was possible to have a charter train into the remote dessert. Douglas Harley has sent me these wonderful pictures that were never published before. I know the quality is not our standard today, but you can’t make this run today. The Porter is standing idle at the Huckelberry Railroad in Michigan. The caboose was destroyed by a railfan! The government operated railroad has one of the highest security standards, which are nearly impossible to make good trains pictures or get closer to the trains. So enjoy the images and have fun. Desert train,…… All aboard!
