Before the wye extension, the engine would pop off, go to the south end of the ladder track, back up to the north, to dock at the end of the train, pulling off the parlor, tourist & open gon. Back up, go south on the ladder track and use the short eye to bring those 3 cars back up to the coaches, now leaving them on the south end of the consist. On the short eye tail, there was JUST enough space for the 3 passenger cars & loco. Since the seats in the coaches reverse, the coaches were fine. You gotta have the parlor car on the end each morning, thus the afternoon movement.
