Sam, regarding 489, I rode the cab of it on the 14th, and it was idle on the 15th. On the 16th it went to Antonito, where it was left to be worked on. When I was there on the 19th they were installing the right side(engineers side) piston with a new ring in it back into the cylinder.
On the 20th when I peaked at it while heading home it appeared to have all the rods and linkage back together, so I assumed it was ready to go.
So, what is its status now? I think it was in the same spot you photographed it, and it had a caboose behind it.
