I knew you guys would know. When Ian and I filmed there yesterday I was certain that the rock cliff at the distant curve is Hamilton Point. But after being at this spot we went up to the ridge south of Cumbres, past what is commonly called Roger's Got Rocks In His Head. From there I saw there are two yellow cliffs, the westernmost one being Hamilton. Now I'm not certain which cliff we filmed at. I think it is Hamilton, but will have to ride through there (again!?!) to check.

I started this thread not just to show a neat location, but more to better identify where the heck we actually were! Is this Hamilton, or is it one of the spots east of Hamilton? Field work is necessary.

Rich Muth got it (although he didn't give the name). Maybe. Charlie may have nailed it if it turns out this isn't Hamilton. Here is the powder magazine Rich is referring to [www.coloradonewmexicosteamtrain.org]. Ticket To Toltec gives the location of Hamilton Point as mile 334.50, which is east of Cresco. I'm not sure which quiz Dave is referring to. Roger is correct also.
