Hi Dave,
That's my thinking also -- it's definitely eastern US, but the question is where. In my other non-railfan life I'm actually a botanist, so I always look at the vegetation first to orient myself. Among the trees I see hickory and tulip poplar and maybe an apple tree as well, but that could be Pennsylvania as easily as North Carolina, hence my question about north versus south.
