The link below is to a selection of my DRGW ng. pix all in black and white:
Rio Grande ng. in black and white
I really like black and white photographs, but back when I was photographing the ng., it was easier to take 35mm color slides. The 35mm cameras were easier to use, the slide film would go to Kodak for processing, and it was easy to stick the slides into a projector and share them with friends. No awkward twins lens reflex camera and no need to spend hours in a darkroom.
So I ended up with a lot fewer black and white images, and they did not cover the ng. as completely as my color slides. But 50 years later, what black and whites I do have tend to be my favorites. Even though my skills as a photographer were pretty primitive back then, the black and white images seem in general more "artful" than my color images. And Photoshop can correct some of the shortcomings.
Flickr makes it really easy to sort images into new albums, so I decided to try an album of just my black and white stuff. I like the result, but of course I am biased. Hopefully a few folks here will also enjoy some of the images.
And of course the usual teaser picture.
