The re-hash below is based on Bruce's version posted at [ngdiscussion.net]. I rotated the image 0.5° right and "widened" it per JBWX (cropped top & bottom to 600x900, the 2:3 ratio of a 35mm slide),* and then enhanced it just a little per Rich using Photoshop (lightened shadows 15%, darkened highlights 5% and increased contrast 10% using the "shadows/highlights" tool, then increased both brightness and contrast 10% before adding 25% "unsharp mask") to get the following:
- Rússo
* The rotating and resizing of a copy of a copy undoubtedly blurred the image a bit, but if the original were rotated before cropping this would be minimized to give a reasonably sharp 8"x12" print.
