I use a Sony FX7 camcorder and a Sennheiser ME-66 microphone. The mic has a Rycote Softie windscreen (looks like a very furry squirrel). The ME-66 is a shotgun style mic and records two identical mono tracks (not true stereo). I experimented with a number of different types of mic - including a few similar shotguns - before settling on this one. For Youtube videos like the one above, I use the AAC format with a 48kHz sample rate and the standard stereo setting.

Finally when it comes to the audio, there is no difference between the DVD and the Blu-ray version of any of my videos.
