We Do

Take a look at the trips offered on the web site. Riders have the option of riding from Chama to Cumbres by train, returning by bus, or Chama to Cumbres by bus, returning by train. Each trip is $29, and limited to the equivalent of one busload of riders.
For the record, the RGRPC - Commission contract has no "equal service" clause. It does require that during the operating season, AT LEAST one train be run from each terminal each day. Thus nothing contractual prevents us from running, for example, a Chama - Cumbres turn, or a second section of the Chama - Osier train.
Or multiple departures from Antonito, for that matter. Ironically, RGRPC's first "multiple departure" may indeed be out of Antonito. On June 29, during work session "B", the Horseless Carriage Society Convention in Alamosa is bringing approximately 300 riders in about 150 pre-1916 automobiles to Antonito to ride the train. Ed and Kim were considering a second section of the Antonito train that day to accomodate the group's schedule (I don't know what the final decision is or will be). Either way, if you can make it to Antonito that day, I highly recommend it - the K36's may be the youngest thing on the property that day!
