The way things stand right now, IF the NM legislature or EDA comes up with the money; IF we get enough snow; IF the the track work is completed; IF there is at least one locomotive under steam; and IF the Governor of Colorado and/or the Forest service don't shut down the forests before we can even get started, the railroad will probably open on Memorial Day, for a single-headed trip each way on alternate days, probably 5 or six days a week.
Sorry folks. It does NOT look good. It's very hard to look people in the eye and tell them that we dang sure WILL open this summer, when I know in my heart that we need at least three more miracles if it's going to happen.
"Good grief - I should have some flyers with me."
WHAT flyers?
If you know where I can get some, please let me know. I have dozens of folks asking for them.
