The August 13 derailment on the metre gauge Rhaetian Railway actually occurred near Tiefencastel on the Abula line. The train was running from St.Moritz to Chur with 140 passengers. Despite the remote alpine location,the mess was cleaned up and the track reopened for service in three days.

When you rode between Visp and Realp you were on the metre gauge Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. That railway interchanges with the RhB at Disentis/Muster east of Realp. The MGB is separately owned.
