Thank you very much Dave. That really helps. I can see all of what you described. The Richardson photo really helps to see the ends of the 4x4s.

I can also see the other vertical "stakes" placed on one side of the exterior vertical framework. And depending on the car these vertical stakes were placed on either side of the exterior brace.

Any idea what was used for the floor decking?

Thanks again. I'm thinking of modifying one of my Grandt line stock cars to be a double deck car.
