p.s. There was an interurban line near Chicago where an ampersand wouldn't have been appropriate — the Shaker Heights Intercity Transit Co.
And I'm not sure if ground was ever broken for the Fresno Area Rapid Transit here in California, but promotional meetings did get "breezy"
