The military model was somewhat more commonly known as the PT-22. It was an obscure depression/WW2-era trainer of unremarkable service history. It was far overshadowed by much more famous aircraft like the Stearman, the PT-19, and the T-6 Texan. In the modern world it offers nothing over more modern aircraft of similar size and power except in allowing the owner to kind of claim to own a warbird. I should think a SPAD or an SE5 replica would be much more fun, but I suppose there's no accounting for taste.
