The first railroad in Kauai was 2-foot gage its whole life. The rest were all 30" gage. The Plantation rail line is 36" gage, so the equipment came from other islands.

Kauai RR history

We found a concrete bridge over the creek in Kapaa town near the coffee shop with 30" gage rails still in place. The big viaduct over the canyon on the north side of Nawiliwili still stands, though I do not know if the rails are still there. You can drive under it. The wharf at Poipu still has 30" rails embedded in the concrete.
