3751 and C&TS Connection?

January 14, 2003 09:24PM
Yes, I know, there aint much to connect the "tea-kettle" loco's of our railroad to the beathemouth of a 4-8-4. But on Friday night, (August 24, 2002) the locomotive creeped into Williams at 10:30, the Diamondbacks game was over so I steped outside my haistly rented room at the EconoLodge, when I saw something moving in the not to distant yards, it was 3751, I hurried and fired my dad's chevy up and rushed to the yards, in an old worn C&TS shirt and athletic shorts, with no socks and hiking boots. I took some photos of the 3751 with my camera that never came out, and stood near the engine for some warmth in the cold arizona air. I was stunned when I found a few guys who were wearing Cumbres and Toltec hats, I asked them, and they said the worked for the railroad (C&TS) I dont know if it was true or was it just the joy of seeing my first steam locomotive bigger than a 4-6-2 in steam, but did some C&TS workers go down to Williams to help or photograph the 3751?
