Not really that unusual Mr Hunn. I look at things like this particular Harpstand and think, yes I can make that. But having over 30 years of contest modelling behind me, I want to build the very best I can with what limited funds, tools and skills I have. I can't ever afford to buy or have cast a proper cast DSP&PRR switchstand so I pick my battles.
So far I have made a West Side Lumber ball-weighted groundthrow and a D&RGW high-target Switchstand and next want to make a Elliot F&S high-target Switchstand. Once that is out of the way then I hope I'll have enough information to produce a decent replica of the DSP&P/C&C/SPng stand shown in the photograph under discussion.
