Nope, I can't gaurantee that, Tom. And I understand and share your concern. We are always hearing that the problems will be solved if we just send more money. As far as the money for the cameras is concerned, you'd best contact Tim Tennant at the Friends for more information. I don't know the details of this specific situation, perhaps he can give you more particulars. I hope that money donated for the cameras will be spent on the cameras, but without an audit, I guess there's a bit of faith involved. I probably answered in a more flippant manner than I should have and for that I apologize to anyone offended. Many people have contributed to the cameras, and they are awaiting their return to service, as I am myself. But we have to face the reality that this is a volunteer effort and make allowances. When I was gainfully employed in the two-way radio business this would not have been allowed. But we charged lots of money to provide the service customers paid for. Now, I'm doing what I can to improve the lightning protection etc, Jason is awaiting the damaged node so he can get necessary info from it so as to program the replacement unit, Joe and John will be working on the conduit and permanent data links, John and I will be addressing grounding in the depot. I'll also examine weatherproofing on exterior connectors. Etc etc etc. In the commercial world this would have been done long ago. Also, please realize that only one team member resides in Chama, and only part time. The rest of us are at least several hours away, and have other lives. Updates are not warranted on a regular basis when we are not working on it full time, and so users get frustrated. Believe me, the team addressing this is not happy at the delays either.
