Thought perhaps a quick update might be in order.
At the time of my surgery I was told it would get worse before it got better.
I did not imagine that being a possibility because I had been in tremendous pain prior to surgery.
Well, turns out that is the case.
At the time of my previous update I felt pretty good considering the situation.
Recovery seems to be progressing normal. It is just that I need to accept the idea I had a very major procedure performed and recovery will take a long time. I am experiencing the normal soreness, fatigue, etc. The issue is still with the left leg: numbness, tingling, pins and needles, pain, and now, within the last week, loss of toe strength. I have been given a prescription that is supposed to alleviate inflammation and pain.
I have been told that this type of nerve situation could take a long time to recover, 6 months to a year.
I am still on restrictions, no lifting, driving, etc. At this point I cannot say when I will be able to start daily postings. I look forward to resuming posting but it will be awhile yet.
