What we call the "River Road" is very driveable from either end, is 2.5 miles long and follows the Animas River on the original SN roadbed. It can be accessed from just past the brick powerhouse on County Road 2 out of Silverton, opposite the Mayflower Mill at Arastra Gulch, or where the road rejoins CR 2 at the Howardsville bridge over the Animas.
We will have enough rail on hand to lay up to 300'of track for our Silverton Northern interpretive project. This is to show what the SN can look like, and get our feet wet getting actual construction accomplished. On our new web page that Lowell pointed out is a link to a new fund raising effort.
