Best weekend yet: thoughts on opening day

I had the pleasure of riding behind #315 and #463 on Saturday. The best day I've had yet on the C&TS (which is saying a lot). These 2 locomotives are easily my favorite running locomotives and I'm so grateful to everyone involved in getting them running again.
Sunday, a friend and I chased both trains (starting with the eastbound from Chama to Tanglefoot curve then the westbound from Los Pinos back to Chama). Another great day with very dramatic weather (snow sticking in Los Pinos was exciting).
Monday I was fortunate to join the Friends in Antonito scraping paint off of a boxcar. I've never met a nicer group of folks and hope to join them next year for a full week's session.
