Running a Rockwood bus was an experiment we hoped would be well received but with low bookings, we decided to pull the plug on it. People can still drive to Rockwood of course for this shorter trip time. In order to maintain schedules, not all trains will stop to board passengers at Rockwood. On the "Wilderness Access" page we have a timetable showing which trains on which dates will stop. [www.durangotrain.com]
This is my usual preferred way to travel to Silverton. I'll often stop to take a photo at Hermosa Tank and the underpass on the way to Rockwood.
