Although the Knight Sky was designed with cold-weather comfort in mind with heat and windows that could be installed for the winter months, it was also designed to be open-sided for the summer months, rain or shine (or snow). I just spoke with our Asst. Res. Mgr. and she confirmed that when the Knight Sky begins its daily service on May 17, it will be without windows.
Your sons might enjoy the Prospector or Yankee Girl, comfortable with tables they can 'do' things on (cardgames, laptop...), complimentary beverages all day.
Tip for non-interested passsengers: Board in Rockwood to save 1hr 10min each way if 3 1/2 hrs each way will be too much for them. If you have a 2nd driver, he/she can drive to Rockwood and
you can ride train from Durango; it is the same fare. OR park the car in Durango and take the new bus service to Rockwood, June 9-Aug 8 only, (extra charge $12 for standard/deluxe class train seats, no additional charge for first/presidential class seats)
